Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to remove or shrink the borders from undocked charts?
Yes, but this is actually a Windows effect. You cannot remove borders
solely from a floating chart, but you can make window borders smaller or
remove them altogether by adjusting some of the Windows settings (NOTE:
The steps below may vary or may not apply depending on your version of
Windows).
Adjust Border Padding
- Open the Control Panel (Win Key + R->type "control" (without quotes)->Enter OR Windows 8: Right Click Lower Left Hand Corner->Control Panel/Windows 7: Start Menu->Control Panel)
- Navigate to Appearance and Personalization->Personalization (or Win Key + R->type "control desktop" (without quotes)->Enter)
- Click on Window Color
- Click on Advanced appearance settings...
- Under Item, select Border Padding. In the Size box, you can make the border smaller by adjusting it to a lower number or remove the border by entering 0
- Click the Ok button and you're done
You may want to try some additional tweaking if the borders are still appearing in an undesirable way. If so, please read on.
Disable Window Shadows
- Open the Control Panel (see Step 1 above)
- Navigate to System and Security->System (or Win Key + R->type "control system" (without quotes)->Enter)
- In the left sidebar, click on Advanced system settings (or Win Key + R->type "control sysdm.cpl" (without quotes)->Enter)
- Under the Advanced tab, click on the first Settings... button under Performance
- Check Custom and uncheck the box next to "Show shadows under windows"
- Click the Ok button and you're done
